Lightbulb Hi, I'm new here - and I have a plan.

    Hi everyone.

As the title suggests, I'm new here so be gentle!

I have recently been affected by the desire for change. To have my say, and hopefully give everyone who has lost it, their voice back. Idealist yes?

In this pursuit, I have created a group called the GreenShirt Group.

I'm going to try and explain a little about why I have founded this group, and how I see things moving forward.

I have recently become aware of the truth. The truth about the global economy, about 'stop & search' powers in the street, about nationalism, about racism, about religious fundamentalism, the list goes on.

The truth is that EVERYTHING we have to deal with in our modern world, is connected. And as anyone who has done a little weaving or knitting in their time knows; if you pull on one string, the rest will move in a relative fashion to the string pulled.

If, like many musicians, you learn how to make a coordinated effect from the manipulation of many strings - you will have control of what emerges.

    A relatively simple concept yes?

Apply this concept then, to the world at large. Think what a person or a group of persons could do, if they had the power to manipulate some of the biggest 'strings' the world has to offer. For example, control of the money supply, control of religious doctrine, control of technological advances, and most importantly, control of knowledge.

It is naive of us to think that those who find themselves in control of said control strings are benevolent. Some may well be, but from my experience, this simply isn't the norm. Especially given recent political developments across the world, and at home here in the UK.

If you have access to Facebook and other social networking sites, you probably enjoy a great deal of freedom within your world. However, you should not take this for granted. The strings of control are being pulled ever tighter, and one day soon you may find the things you take for granted are locked away - out of reach.

Recent events such as the police beatings dished out at the G20 summit in the UK, and many, many other stimuli have generated a drive within me. A drive to start seeing people ACTING as well as talking about change.

I viewed the uprising in Thailand as of special significance. The so called Red-Shirts there have been standing up to the established 'authority', for what they believe in. I don't condone the way they did things, as I think it was unintelligent and hijacked by other agendas. But the movement was powerful, and showed unity in a single colour - no matter the person underneath that colour. This has been refreshed in the GREEN movement in Iran - I wish every Iranian freedom and liberty - Imshallah.

Therefore, I felt that a cause standing behind a colour in the rest of the world could create the impetus for change required. The Green Shirts were born. I chose Green, because the people of the world associate it with many things I believe in.

Green is sustainable. Green is of the earth, for the earth. Green is a bright, emotive colour that seen en masse, never fails to make an impact. Most of all, it's one of my favourite colours! The impact this colour has created in Iran cannot be understated.

I want people to start making noise. Lots of it. Right in the face of the people that want quiet.

I don't believe in anarchy. I'm not a communist, socialist, neo-conservative, liberal, eco-thug, carbon loony or any other pigeon-holed affiliate. I believe in evolution of society into something better, faster & stronger. As Darwin showed, evolution can often be painful. As Jacques Fresco has shown, it's not impossible.

So what is the GreenShirt Group going to advocate?

The Greenshirt Movement is a pro-active collection of individuals - unified in one single purpose - to enact the positive changes needed in the world. Enough talk, time for action.

As a collection of citizens from all social backgrounds, creeds, colours and religions - this group will represent in 'the field', the human desire for self-betterment and sustainable progress.

Our main aims are as follows -
    1) Remove unlawful & unelected governments in their current form, and install 'management' systems free of undue influence.
    2) Conscientiously promote freedom from the constraints of (for profit) monetary systems globally, initially replacing it with a non-interest (debt) based single currency.
    3) Limit the powers and effects of 'global elite' groups that seek forms of 'control', whatever& wherever they may be.
    4) Seek to intelligently work towards an economic system based on resource management, not profit creation and wealth aggregation.
    5) Promote PUBLIC debate about relevant topics, to prevent suppression of said debate by mainstream media and others.
    6) Provide a global framework for religious interaction. If you would like to be religious - go for it. But 'High Control' practices will not be tolerated, the vulnerable must be protected.
    7) Perform the above tasks within the realms of public acceptability, and maintain the best interests of the cause.
    8) Walk the path of peace, but be prepared for the road to war.

Imagine, an army of people dressed in green that one day every week - descends on the powers that be. The power of these movements in Thailand and Iran cannot be denied. This is my aim - change through numbers.

We have no representation in our government in the UK - but this will change - the GSG will see to that.

Would anyone like to discuss my idea?

    Kind Regards,

    The Para.

Thankyou very much for the warm welcome folks.

I'm fairly new to the political scene, but I have a lot of 'content' to create, if you get my meaning?

I've been using the internet handle Parallex since the early 90's. Think the name has stuck because it's so unusual.

I'm currently trying to find a place for my beliefs in the political spectrum. I think I'm something of a lefty, but at the same time I do have lots of liberal views, and plenty of 'Smithian' economic ideas. I enjoy arguments about whether or the 'for-profit monetary system' is a market distortion, and I enjoy slam-dunking the 'sustainability' nay-sayers.

I'm on the verge of something with my idea, I can 'feel' it. I just need to tweak it here and there, add some depth - and I think a winner will be born.

I'll just add my slightly belated welcome to the form Parallex, and I'll look forward to discussing an expansion on some of your ideas.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised 'for the good of its victims' may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us 'for our own good' will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C.S.
