That all sounds extremely interesting John, and I suspect that you'll find some interesting debates to be had on several aspects of both politics in its widest sense, and in relation to the current political parties and their own policies. You may well have gathered that although our active membership here is relatively small, there are some very interesting and well reasoned arguments put forwards for several alternative policies which people believe should be adopted, and why that should be so.
I've just had a quick browse through the UK First Party website and at first glance I do have to say that your policies do ring many bells with me. However one question; as a current non-voter for many reasons, how would you convince me that I should join a small and hitherto unknown political party, one of several dozen already in the UK, which, whilst full of fine words (aren't they all!) will stand any chance whatsoever in gaining enough public support to make even the slightest dent in the power of the major parties?
Can a vote for a small party not be considered as a wasted vote, allowing yet more years of one of the major parties to continue in power with an even smaller percentage of the electorate voting for them? You say you support smaller and more accountable government - excellent - but I can't see where you stand with relation to proportional representation, in my view one of the best ways that smaller parties could gain a realistic foothold on a national level.
I for one will be very interested in discussing some of your proposals and in hoping that some of what's discussed here might eventually find its way into the UKFP's own policies.
