Hello trouble!
Hope you are well darling. It's rather nice on this board and I think you will have some fun, particularly with the more strident types (unlike shy retiring little me)

Ten year US Army Infantry vet from the 60's/70's if that tells you anything. Spent several years in sales to the military and some time as part time cop putting mil skills to work.
Politically I'm all over the spectrum. I have a strong distrust of pols, of any stripe. Some people think I'm to the right of Atilla and I am on some issues but I have a heart. The warrior in me dies a little bit everytime we (not just the US) sit on our hands and let things like Rawanda and Dafur happen. In that respect I consider myself an "atrocitarian" in the spirit of Byron. I know from experience that the only body count that matters is that of the innocent. The world needs "peace warriors" but sometimes only direct action will do in the short run.
Even my best friend doesn't know that I voted for "Jimma" Carter the first time around. Well , they know it now if they're reading this.
Interests are long range target shooting, fly fishing, photography and writing/blogging.
TMI?

Hey You!
Actually I'm in the same "state" as when we first met sweetheart. Been sick for two days now and blew the perfect opportunity to catch up on nanowrimo word count. My mind, what litttle is left, won't function. Could you send round the homemade wine again? I'll leave the door unlocked.
It's that "shy retiring little" you bit that I love. I'm also attracted to cobras, black widows, and Russian Roulette.
Ps: thanks for the link that brought me here. I'll play nice, promise.
Hi Don, and welcome to the Politics Forum!
Before anything else can I make a couple of quick points about posting in the forum. If you haven't read the rules yet, please do; you can find them here. Knowing what’s appropriate and what isn’t can save everyone a great deal of hassle! You might also find the Guide to Good Posting useful. Also please respect other people’s views; they mightn’t be the same as yours but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re wrong, just different.
If you need help with anything at all, feel free to contact me, or one of the other moderators, via a personal message; details can be found here.
Perhaps you’d care to introduce yourself, which you can do here, or tell us a little bit more about yourself here.
Enjoy the debates - it's good to have another American on board, but be warned, you will come under some heavy fire at times in the never ending game of USA-baiting (mind you, it looks like you've already got a protector in Uncon)![]()
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised 'for the good of its victims' may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us 'for our own good' will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C.S. Lewis
Midas, he is more likely to be doing the US Baiting! It will be a sad day when that reprobate needs my protection.
Reprobate? As in shameless? Hopefully not damned. Hells bells, and here I thought that my lack of shame and my flirtatious nature were part of the charm.
I wonder why the things that should be so simple, so natural... like loving someone and letting them see into your heart... should require so much courage?
No Don...your wife told us to humour you.
In fairness it is good to see you over here as you can be an American to balance out the nut job ones
