Hello everyone,

I am new to these type of sites so please bear with me as technophobic me grapples with 21st century technology.

I am a 44 year old civil servant and my political leanings can be best summed as leftist with distinctive libertarian tendencies. I feel that there is not enough conviction in modern politics and that too many politicians on both sides of the political spectrum are after power for its own sake rather than power to transform societies for the better.

I like a good book, British pop music from the late 1970's and early 1980's and a good argument !
for my sins, I am passionate about supporting Welsh rugby and Liverpool Fc, which is positively masochistic given the type of season both sides are enduring at the moment.

Please feel free to share your ideas with me and I promise to engage anyone in debate as long as it is polite, civilised and free from personal insults.
