    Helloa from Lincs

Hi, i joined a while back but this is my first post.
My main interest in politics are
National security-How we can lower defence spending and thus lower taxes without leaving the country vulnerable to an aggressor, the future of our alliance with the U.S and wheter to go in to the Euro or even a E.U supernation and the threat of the rising power of China
Taxes-Massively reducing tax and government spending and allowing the free market free reign without leaving the rich and powerful free reign to abuse their power
The NHS/welfare state- Scrapping the NHS and unemployment benefit would enable the gov. to lower taxes
I'm also interested in what i call 'strategic laws'. I'll post about that in a week or two though
Dunno what else to say. Nice to be here and see you around

So unproductive has conservatism been in producing a general conception of how a social order is maintained that its modern votaries, in trying to construct a theoretical foundation, invariably find themselves appealing almost exclusively to authors who regarded themselves as liberal. - F.A. Hi mixer.
    My viewsAs a communist)

national security: Unilaterally disarm, defence bud of £o.

Taxes: Massive tax hike for the rich, but obviously tax is not a problem is we go communist as the state will control earnings.

The NHS/welfare: Unemployment not a problem in a communist state, obviously the state will control healthcare.

Your pinions are abhorrent to me, but welcome anyway!

You really do need to take that comedy act on the road. Whomever it was who said commies don't have a sense of humor didn't know what they were saying. Wait! That was me said that.
I wonder why the things that should be so simple, so natural... like loving someone and letting them see into your heart... should require so much courage?

    Re: Helloa from Lincs

Hello Mixer! Since Opinionated has done the official bit, it just remains for me to say welcome to the forum, and I look forward to reading your posts and discussing some of the topics with you.

I have to say that I largely agree with you about massively lowering defence and general government spending and taxation. The free market does need to be given a far freer reign, but what regulation there is needs to be very accurately targeted and very responsive to changes in circumstances. I'm in two minds about the NHS though; my inclination is to have a good basic service to cover things like accident and emergency, the ambulance and the GP services and hospital referrals consequential on those, but then topped up with private cover for all non-emergency treatment. I also don't feel we should completely scrap unemployment benefit but it should be severly time-limited, and after a certain period should be dependent on community project work being done.

I'll be interested to see what your ideas on 'strategic laws' are.
