Well I'm new around here, 15 years old(Didn't see if the site had an age limit, but I'll take no offence if the mods think I'm too young and ban me.) and living in Central Scotland.
I first got loosely into politics during the 2007 Scottish parliament election campaign, and then during the recent general election campaign I became much more interested in politics.
As you can tell by my name I'm a unionist Scot; I believe we should stay in the UK. I'm also pro EU although I believe Britain is somewhat passed from pillar to post, I don't like the idea of leaving the EU.
I don't have a political allegiance yet but I am opposed to the Scottish National Party.
As I'm pretty new to politics I'll try to avoid heated debates as I'll confess you'll all know much more than me, but hopefully through time I'll be able to learn much more.
Welcome and hope you have a productive time.

I joined when I was 15. You'll be fine and find many like-minded people in the forums if you stick at them.
Best of luck and welcome,

Thanks for the welcoming, gotta admit I was kinda worried I'd be rejected for being 15
Last week I was questioning my constituency's Labour candidate and he just didn't give a jot about me because I was below the voting age.
Great to have you here. I think it is admirable that you are taking an interest in these issues now. As far as I am concerned the thought of you being a well informed voter in three years can only be a welcome one.
I really hope the SNP can gain support for their motion to give 16 year olds the vote for next year's holyrood elections and local council elections, that would make me eligible to vote. The Lib Dems support the right to vote at 16 which puts the bill 3 votes short of passing, so we need the support of either Labour or the Tories or the Greens and Margo McDonald.
You will have to convince me on that.
I acknowledge that there are interested, engaged teenagers out there, like yourself, but there are a lot more hanging around the bus stop who think that spitting is some kind of achievement and I'm not sure they have the ability to detach enough from their self interest to make an informed vote.
Having said that, I can think of quite a few middle aged folk who should have the pencil taken away and be told to sit down and just watch the voting. I was in my local shop and I watched a girl approach a man whereupon she asked him as a regular customer (about 60ish in age) if he would like a loyalty card to gain vouchers. his reply:
"I won't put money into labour coffers. I'm a signed up member of the BNP and when I vote I cross out everyone elses name and write my own at the bottom"
The girl just walked away baffled....my first thought was so why don't you stand you idiot! 16 years olds make a damn site more sense than him!
Not meaning to stick up for this idiot but in this day and age people aren't willing to throw away £500 like that.
I got a problem. I posted a poll on voting systems but it didn't show up, so I tried again and still nothing, so I dropped the poll and just did a thread on why I support AV+, still nothing, and now it won't let me PM the Mods.
