Hi Everyone! I am a Junior member! (NEWBIE)
Little about myself:
I am into Politics and History and speak openly on it
because it is a Freedom of my Speech. I am traditional
minded of the American Dream and core Conservative
values. In truth I despise this society. I think of it as
a shame to History. In my opinion I praise the society's
of the 50's,40's,30's, and 20's. The only greatest advance
in our society is our own technolgy.
A TRUE Conservative I admire is Radio Talk show host
Michael Savage. I've read two of his books and loved
it! I can't wait to read "Banned in Britain" which I think
as a Conseervative you should. I enjoy listening to
his show and everything I 100% believe in has ever
since been from him.
Well all I can say is I am TRULY Proud to be an American
and admire the great one's who changed American, and
Founded it's Independance and Constitution.

http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/a...ly_welcome.gif Hello Silver and welcome. Does the "t" there on the end of 'is' suggest Germanic heritage or is it a typo (just teasing).
Allow me please to get the official bit out of the way before I address a number of interesting points you have made in your OP. Please acquaint yourself with the rules, it is most helpful if members are aware of what is acceptable to post here etc.; once you are feeling at home you may like to tell us a bit more about yourself here and/or join the rogues gallery here. You may also find our guides to good posting and the forum software useful. We're quite a friendly bunch here and are also keen to promote free speech so you should hopefully find a number of people to passionately debate with.

My hope is you'll discover you've come to the right place then. Is it not highly unusual for a conservative to place emphasis on the rights expressed in the first amendment as opposed to the second and first part of 8, not to mention obsession with Roe v Wade?
Aaah the American dream, a man can arrive on your shores and through sheer hard work and determinism rise to the highest office in the land (the Horatio Alga myth - link for my fellow Brits).I am traditional minded of the American Dream and core Conservative values.
OK, interesting you should choose a time in history which begins with the biggest economic depression seen, goes through a stain on humanity known as WWII and continues in much the same way with huge poverty around the Western world and numerous wars, also interesting it was the last time in American history the Left wing had a real voice. I consider myself of the Left, although due to my faith am considered rather conservative and something of a traitor by my comrades there. What I think we may agree on to some extent is that the period you have chosen to exhault there (early twentieth century) for all it's faults had a clearer sense of community about it, which is sorely missing in current society; where we part company is that imo the greatest attack on that sense of community came not from liberals (American use of the term) but from a right wing intent on destroying it in favour of a transitory free market of labour which inevitably saw the top 1% own over half the world's wealth. In truth I despise this society. I think of it as a shame to History. In my opinion I praise the societies of the 50's,40's,30's, and 20's. The only greatest advance in our society is our own technolgy.
Michael Savage has made very little of a ripple over the pond despite having been put on "the Banned list" for his 'extremist' views by the last administration, I will agree that it is wrong to deny anyone (no matter how extreme their views) a platform as long as they do not advocate violence. To provide balance I have googled the man and it seems to me he does hold what I consider some vile views regarding homosexuality, Islamophobia and the nature of Autism, still he supports animal rights so he can't be all bad (interesting he once worked for Timothy Leary)!A TRUE Conservative I admire is Radio Talk show host Michael Savage. This worries me, no-one's views should be formed based solely on those of another person. This trend you have there for failed politicians becoming cult like figures (that includes More in case your about to accuse me of ideological bias) is quite worrying. Luckily it hasn't reached our shores yet, then again perhaps we are better at distinguishing fact from opinion? Which is why we laugh at Fox and yet do not take CNN or the BBC as bastions of the whole truth. It is worrying that our insistence on everything being entertaining has dumbed down the media to such an extent.I enjoy listening to his show and everything I 100% believe in has ever ]since been from him.
Good for you! Here we can also agree to a certain extent, your founding fathers were indeed amazing men (both for their time and by modern standards), some of whom would be vilified for their view by the Right these days and your constitution (especially the Bill of Rights) is a remarkable document.Well all I can say is I am TRULY Proud to be an American and admire the great one's who changed American, and founded it's Independance and Constitution.

Since Opinionated (she lives up to her name doesn't she) has already done the official bit, I'll simply add in my own welcome to the forum Silver. I hope to see you posting more widely, giving another American perspective, to the views of this group - but I'm sure you won't always be in for an easy ride!

Welcome to the forum.
As an Englishman, I am prepared to the make the people of the colony of North America an offer. Lay down your weapons, admit you were disloyal to the Crown, re-swear allegiance to HM Queen Elizabeth and we will once again take over responsibility for administering and taxing the land that is rightly an English possession. There will be no reprisals, and we will overlook the many national and international errors that, as a result of inexperience, you have made since you had that very silly tea party in Boston.
PS. Swop you Canada for Scotland.
Ah, but Major, we cannot just give away our 51st state (we just haven't told them yet, so don't spread it around please).
Welcome Silver. Good to have another American on board. We have some similarities, especially regarding the Constitution and the Founding Fathers. In other matters, it remains to be seen since I can be at different points on the spectrum depending on the issue, with is it Constitutional, the most important point. At times my heart may lean to the left, but again the Constitution rules supreme (perhaps I should be on the Supreme Court).
I wonder why the things that should be so simple, so natural... like loving someone and letting them see into your heart... should require so much courage?
Thank You for your welcomes, I can see I will be in for a ride
and socially active with many different view points. Nice to
meet you all.
I know that on some degree we will disagree somewhere so I do not
place myself exactly that everything I believe is what another believes.
Reasoning of this despise of this society? The crime, the corruption,
and the lack of intellect in my youth and Americans around. Those are
the simple reasons. My age group I will admit is disgustful and
I take my word for it that many are right on that. I keep in mind that
I will never be like them or fall into this category for my own sake.
I see some on here though that you can see done real research which
I'm now glad.
You'll notice as in this post I'm creative with coloring and bolding my
text. I usaully like to be organized to. I might highlight text as to show
of putting a point accross because I notice some people might not
read every single word which I can understand since often I type alot.
I enjoy discussing and writing. I feel a sense of accomplishment.![]()
History is our greatest gift that must be taken into consideration.
Without it we have no human instinct and neither strong convictions.
We exist to this day to fullfill this duty of Honor that we do NOT
forget it and that We preserve it's memory. It is our Key to this Future.

You gotta love a nation of 'mongrels' (not meant as an insult), the US is essentially a Battersea dogs home isn't it and I do find myself often wanting to adopt one or a hundred or so!
