    Hi, love the forum.

Hi my name is Dave, I'm 46 years old, I currently live in south Devon. I'm originally from Staffordshire.
I consider my political persuasion to be British Socialist. However I do hold some conservative views on a number of issues. I find myself hard pushed to think of any liberal views on any issues with the possible exception of prison and sentencing policy in the UK.
I'm currently in network marketing. I worked in heavy industry for 21 years. I'm a former trade union activist and steward.

    Re: Hi, love the forum.

Hello Dave and a warm welcome to the forum.

Seeing as Midas has already done the formalities in another thread let me say it's good to have another lefty, even if you are a conservative (small c) one. I consider myself to be a Christian Socialist (also quite a British phenomenon). You say you have few "liberal" views, I'm assuming you are using that in it's modern (American?) meaning, so let me help you out there - I assume as a man of the left you support the NHS, a safety net for the poor and state funded education, clearly you believe in Trade unionism?
    Anyway, enjoy the debates.

Welcome Dave, have to say your post on relevance of the bible was well thought out, clear and brilliant. I remember having questions when the the stories were presented to me as a child and later on as a youth wondering about some of the very things your pointed out. Any how welcome to the forum and hope you have fun
