I wonder why the things that should be so simple, so natural... like loving someone and letting them see into your heart... should require so much courage?

Half of my grandfather's possessions were held together with duct tape and bailing wire.

I work in a dirty job and recently all the slots in my wallet had filled with dust and sand/lime/portland etc, causing damage to my plastic and so on( the magnetic stip wears down and becomes unreadable).I decided to wash the wallet with cold water and a leather cleaning chemical.Of course as a hand made "truckers" wallet it took a couple of days to dry, I didnt want to use a dress wallet for work so I fabricated a new billfold out of Duct Tape, I will give free instructions on how to all members if requested, it takes about 20 to 30 mins to complete, has 2 compartments for bills and a few compartments for cards etc, I still have it and use it as my Hiking wallet!!

HI Pauli, why don't you buy a new one. I bought one out of a mag which opens like a four page book with fifteen pockets. Actually, I've almost worn it out and can't find another one for love nor money.

Have you seen this method? Uses a Tyvek FedEx shipping envelope. Instructables.com is an interesting site, check it out.

Pauli dosent like to waste things, the wallet has a good few years in it yet, good quality full grain leather, made in west Virginia!!!I use things until they fall to bits, I have a wallet that I purchased in Africa in 1989, its still in good order, its made from water buffalo hide(allegedly). If you buy quality it stays good for longer.Waste is never a good thing, I eat my lunch at work from a stainless steel Tiffin box from India, reusable and longlasting, better for the environment and for me!!

You're right about the buffalo hide, all types. I have a pair of driving gloves of cape buffalo hide, I've had for going on 20 years, the stitching keeps wearing out but I just resew every few years. Great stuff.
