Unions turn the screw on business with new rights

'Companies wanting to win government contracts will be told that they must promote trade union membership, The Times has learnt.
In the latest sign that ministers are bowing to the unions’ agenda, businesses seeking a share of the £115 billion on offer to deliver public services will be told today that they must demonstrate how they will “build good relations” with unions as part of their contract bids.'

Are Labour returning to their roots by encouraging business to accept trade union membership?
It seems to me that while moving closer to traditional values, they are more than prepared to privatise our industry. Is this just appeasing the Unions that are almost their only source of income?

Will any of this even matter, this policy and the contracts they are linked to, will more than likely not be implemented until after the next General Election, therefore are the Labour government just creating more issues for a Tory government to undo? Are the Labour government attempting to build a base of support in a unionised workforce?

So many questions, are Labour setting this policy to meet their own ends or that of the worker??
