| Dunwoody dies The death of veteran Labour MP Gwyneth Dunwoody leaves vacant the parliamentary seat of Crewe and Nantwich. At the last general election (2005), the votes cast were: Labour 21,240 Conservative 14,162 Liberal Democrat 8,083 In the forthcoming byelection, the challenge for the BNP will be to achieve at least 4000 votes. Doubtless the Labourites will resort to their usual grubby tactics, but such is life.      |
