Lib Dem EU Treaty farce

The House of Lords is to vote on whether a referendum should be held on the EU Treaty - a day before Ireland's national ballot on the agreement.
The Tories say the treaty should be put to a referendum. The government and Lib Dems say it is not needed as the treaty does not alter the UK's constitution.
Leader Nick Clegg has told Lib Dem peers to oppose a referendum. When MPs voted Lib Dems were told to abstain.
Shadow foreign secretary William Hague called that position "indefensible".

In a letter, Mr Hague accused the Lib Dem leader of being determined to deprive the British people of a say and push the EU Treaty through "at all costs".
"Why do you refuse to explain why [your peers] are set to vote in a completely different way from your MPs?" Mr Hague wrote.
"Don't voters have a right to know? Is it because your position is completely indefensible?"

Does Clegg have any idea what he is doing ?
