- 09-12-2008 02:58 AM - permalinkMarxist NutterHI WCA. I'd like to see you back here.
Sorry to speak to a conversation you were having with another comrade but the stuff about degrees (at least in my part) was an attempt to show up another (now banned) member who claimed to have two doctorates (repeatedly). I am fortunate enough to be able to spot this lie and to be able to show it up, and I felt it my duty to do so.
I hope you do not consider this bragging - Yep , it is hard to be optimistic , extremely so , but the alternative is pessimism and that's no great feeling. Maybe that's my way of dealing with things. To me the ultimate defeat for myself will come when I lose that optimism.
It's about one of the only meaningful choices we have left , imo, and I know what the elites would be happiest with , and that ain't optimism.
For that reason alone the self delusion is worth it.
Never let the B******s grind ya down. - hello WCA , you are right we haven't got centuries , Bakunin died in 1876 so the statement was made quite some time ago and it is from that period and earlier that I like to think of the clock being set.
As for hope/optimism......well............. its a personal thing I suppose.
Rolling over and dying in the face of capitalist power is something I don't subscribe to .
I think of all the people who have held the baton from generation to generation and that gives me the will to keep fighting the current system - Re........education levels/academia......
Maybe people take the lead from parliament WCA
How embarrassing can PMs question time be at times ? Elitist jeering and point scoring while little or nothing really changes
I agree it is something that I am not keen on myself .
Luckily my official education ended at 16 and I left with a decent qualification for English and that's it. So I don't have the temptation to claim to be an academic
which is fine by me.
In response to the post below........... the rich elites hold all the cards all the power so long as people don't challenge that. It is a tough situation for the masses who are never encouraged to question the sentiments yoy have expressed.
Bakunin once said that the realization of socialism is the " work of centuries " and I completely agree with him. The fight continues today and every other day in many parts of the globe.
I don't think all is lost by any means - 14-11-2008 11:20 AM - permalinkworking class angerThe people at the bottom produce all the wealth & obtain none of the benefit.Surely this cant be right, but why is nothing being done to change this?
- hello WCA. just thought I would return the compliment and be the first to leave a message on your home page.
I myself am not one for joining things but I think it is good to talk with people of similar opinions................ just for the good of the soul if for nothing else
Best wishes
