IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON

IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON

What a brilliant documentary on Channel 4. It was awesome, fantastic and humbling, though disappointing at the same time that we haven’t been back to the moon. Just imagine where we’d be if we had.
It is the moon landing and the other NASA adventures since, that has shaped my view of life and the politics that I so passionately believe in.

Our fathers, grand-fathers and great-great grand-fathers feed us a dream of a future that my generation believed in. A future of flying cars, space exploration, a clean planet, and a world without poverty, pain and hard-ship. But alas they failed to deliver and instead bequeathed us a world full of destruction, fear and hate.

Yes, it takes immense financial sums, man-power and resources to explore the cosmos. But instead of continuing this commitment, they instead committed our future in favour of war, nuclear weapons and capitalist greed.

The bottom line is this- Our fathers, grand-fathers and great-great grand-fathers have let us (Humanity) down.

Not only are we living in the shadow of the moon, we’re also living in the shadow of the mistakes made by our ancestors.

It is this regrettable conclusion that has shaped my greatest personal ambition in life. To make amends for our predecessor’s short-falls and to make sure that future generations don’t look back on my generation, with the same distaste and disappointment.

We must stop waging war on each other; we must stop spending immense resources on death and destruction. We must do this; and instead invest in life and reconstruction. For the sake of future generations, WE MUST.

And we will, don’t worry every-one, WE WILL.

With the SOS Visionary Party you have a politician you can believe in. A politician who believes in space exploration over war. A politician who values every human life as sacred and essential for the continuation of Mankind’s future. A politician who believes, as did the great J.F Kennedy believe, when he committed the nation to getting a man to the moon and back, that we can achieve the impossible. A politician of boldness and might, who’s radical and revolutionary.

A new breed of politician, with the same mind-set as Nelson Mandela, the Dalai-Lama and Gandhi. Taylor: Man of the Millennium, leader of the SOS Visionary Party. www.sosparty.co.uk.

Remember ladies and gentlemen that even after a millennium of space exploration, there may be the chance that we are the only life in the Universe. We must be prepared for this eventuality. And to prepare, we must value each life on this planet as if it’s a life fit for a God. Every single man, woman, child and creature on this planet is of immense importance and must be treated as though they are the most precious commodity in the whole Universe.

Our planet is special and so is life. Let’s care for it like we’ve never cared for it before. Let’s believe in a future of space exploration and let’s return to the moon and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.
