| Anyone remember the English National Party? Anyone here remember the English National Party? Run by a fruitcake doctor, they existed in the 1970's, based near Exeter if I remember correctly.
Policies included: plans for a major ring-road around London, (before the M25 was a twinkle) and the commandeering of all North Sea oil because the England/Scotland border runs at a SW to NE tangent.
The prospective Education Minister was an old lady that appeared on it's PPB knitting and they dressed in traditional clothes when canvassing!
I don't remember much more, except that they were both colourful and quite wacky, yet somewhat appealing!
