Somali Asylum Seekers Use Your Tax Money to Win Fight for Bigger Houses

Six Somali ‘asylum seekers’ in Birmingham have been given four- and five-bedroomed houses at taxpayers’ expense after winning a legal battle with the council — funded by free legal aid for which taxpayers also paid.
The Somalians were given free homes shortly after they arrived in Britain. But they soon complained the accommodation was too small after their families arrived from abroad.

One refugee was in a two-bed flat, but a year later was joined here by his wife and six children. Another was also joined by his wife and six children before she gave birth to another child.

They took their demands to court — using legal aid cash — after Birmingham council said it had no accommodation left. They were moved into bigger houses after winning the action. One got a five-bedroom mansion, four got four-bedroom homes and another received a three-bedroom house.

The fact they are asylum seekers ensured that they qualified for legal aid. None of the asylum seekers is believed to be working and all were said to be living off welfare benefits.

Migrationwatch chief Sir Andrew Green said: “This may all be perfectly legal but it leaves the long-standing residents of Birmingham aghast at the manipulation of the system.”

    * From London’s East End comes the news that “refugees and other immigrants are being helped to find jobs by Town Hall officials.”

A pilot six-month project has been launched offering one-to-one and group tutoring to help new arrivals who are living in supported housing in Tower Hamlets to find work to be able to keep themselves.

Weekly courses are being run by the authority to help them with English, CV writing, how to search for jobs and preparing for interviews.

They get further support once they complete the programme from professional advisers from Praxis community projects, funded by the council’s Supporting People programme.

Unemployment among Tower Hamlets’ immigrants and other ethnic communities are far higher than the national average.

I’m sure this will be cheering news to all those thousands of British families about to be repossessed and rehoused in grotty bedsits because they don’t have enough children to need larger premises,
What happens when the other three cousin-wives of each asylum seeker turn up? An ecotown in the green belt for each tribe?
By the way, they may need grants to modify the plumbing so the toilets face away from Mecca.

Yet more proof the government would rather support Foreigners and Asylum seekers than thier own Tax paying Citizens. Yes lets all think about those people who have lost thier homes and our thrown into any old dump of a property. Its nice that Labour is wanting to help those less fortunant but by doing things like this they are negelecting thier own Citizens, thier is plenty of problems in this Country that need sorting before we tend to others...

Dont it just p*ss you off when people like you and me work a hard days Labour just to get by, then a family of Asylum seekers waltz into the country and are handed everything on a plate. Nice house money from the state all courtesy of hard working people like me and you. Merry Christmas indeed.

    'Tragedy' of Bradford families highlighted

Saw this in my local paper...

More than 100 children across Bradford will face Christmas in bed and breakfasts while they wait for new homes, it has been revealed.
There are 125 children in temporary accommodation across the district, compared with 103 in 2004/5, according to Government information.
Local authorities have a duty to house unintentionally homeless families in priority need. If they are unable to find suitable permanent housing, they might have to use temporary accommodation including B&Bs, hostels and private and social housing.

The figures, uncovered by the Liberal Democrats, lay bare the scale of the housing shortage in the district and will fuel anger that other homes are standing empty.

Liberal Democrat housing spokesman Sarah Teather said: “It is a tragedy so many families will spend this Christmas mired in uncertainty and crammed into bed and breakfasts and unsuitable housing.

“Labour came to power promising to build more social housing, but unless Gordon Brown acts quickly his legacy will be one of failure and neglect of some of the poorest children.

“With more and more families finding themselves facing the prospect of repossession, the Government must give councils the power to borrow and build now, while land is cheap.”

The figures released in a parliamentary written answer show nationally almost 88,000 children face not being in a permanent home this Christmas.
A spokesman for the Department for Communities and Local Government said: “More families are getting housing supporting as a result of a stronger safety net, but there is more to do. That is why we are investing more than £8 billion over the next three years.”

A Council spokesperson said: “Priorities within the new homelessness strategy are to reduce the unnecessary use of temporary accommodation and bed and breakfast.”

When they say 'More families are getting housing supporting' they must mean, immigrants are being supported as per my first post.

    Somali "Bogus Seekers"

This country is truly becoming a third world tip, why do we have Somalis here?, if they were Asylum Seekers they would have found Asylum in a country far closer to their own, there are many countries between here & there.

Funny how they have no problem finding the air fare.

It's astonishing to think that these people get such incredible benefits such as very expensive housing, it's incredible that they moaned about their previous free accommodation being too small for their bloated broods of 6 children+

I wonder why they don't seem to want to live in a country under black rule, could it be because they run such great, successful, non corrupt & civilised societies on the African continent??

Where does it state that we Brits have to be the worlds saviour, don't we have enough problems of our own without having to act as a world hospital, the worlds free for all.

I wonder why we have such huge increases in disease such as HIV & the re-emergence of TB??

On the subject of Somalis, there are many in jail here, so what do they damn well contribute to our society other than disease, crime, the taking of taxpayers money in various forms.

Who on these forums are categorically dumb enough to state that we are so "enriched" by these 3rd world parasites??

This story does highlight every law abiding british citizen's worst nightmare, while we slave our guts out to pay our mortgage and fund the treasury, our government not only throws the door open to every helpless stray from around the world, but when they get here, our government also give them more than we could ever hope for.

But then again, what are the alternatives? same stuff different bunch of faces, who will happily tax more from the poor and give to the rich, if we vote the tories in that's exactly what we'll get.

Or we could always vote the BNP, and get the BNP's own brand of ethnic cleansing, that should sort all those immigrants out and destroy the country in the process.

Yet it still amazes me that we still haven't had a government that has tackled the issue of house with common sense. Build more council houses.

recent reports suggest that the council house waiting lists are longer than they have ever been, and with a recession looming, does it not make sense to get some of those immigrants into work by handing them a job on a building site and making them earn their keep....and if they refuse, dump them back on the next flight back to where ever they came from.

Our rail network is one of the worst in europe, and is totally underfunded, not to mention the fact that there aren't enough people who want that sort of job to do anything about it, why not let our immigrants work for their keep?

But then again, why should they work when we are all prepared to sit back and vote in the same bunch of self serving rogues that really don't give a toss about the british tax payer.

My issue with this story like many other that the BNP put out, is that the BNP only have one answer to every problem....lets get rid of them all.

when Britain was great we used foreigners to build our empire, i've got nothing against anyone wanting to come to our country for a better life, as long as they are prepared to contribute, but sadly it seems that instead of blaming the immigrants we should be blaming ourselves for letting this nonsense get out of hand in the first place.

what we don't need is a bunch of politicians destroying our country to please their pals in europe or a bunch of would be fascists, who would happily destroy our country to appease their nasty little predjudices. we actually need a government who can look at a problem and use common sense to fix it.

But then again....we can all dream!

I had this saved on my computer, i think ive put it on the right thread lol. Cant really remember who it was for. But ill post it anyways.

I see you say something that people always say when the BNP supporters post something, about how we use these storys and exploit them for our gain because its what the British public want to hear.

Well these storys we dont exploit, the storys that we post on here actually fall into our policies which is why we focus on storys like this one. Immigration as im sure you are aware is a major part of our Policys, but how can we show how bad the topics of our policies are unless we use storys like this one?. The problem is that we are the only Party who seems to think thier is a major issue with Immigartion and want it sorted ASAP. So we have to show the public why we feel these views, afterall you cant fight an argument or hold an opinion if you have no facts or information to back you up. The BNP would not destroy this Country but make it better for its own Citizens, forget Foreigners and forget Asylum Seekers. We have done more than our fair share in helping others and in the process neglected our own Citizens. Im sure many British families would like bigger houses but we tend to get slumped in the pits of a run down council estate, why should our own Born and Bred be put second to a bunch of Scroungers. Like ive said many of time ok its good that we help others but lets help our own first, otherwise it wont be too long before this Country is no better than the one the Asylum Seekers come from.

So the only reason you see the BNP use example storys like this one, is because we are probably the only party who actually see the problem and have an issue with it. Every party uses storys to show support for thier argument, although as of lately i see Labour and Conservatives are fixated on battleing it out on thier websites. But this BS of the BNP exploits these storys is getting old and rather annoying. Our storys come from Labours mess, they created the situation which is against everything the BNP's Policies stand for. Remember the BNP has always had strong feelings with Immigration and Asylum Seekers before it became a real issue. Were not changing our views to the state of what our Country is, the state of the Country is just falling into our views.

Ive said this before, Labours mess is our gain. But never mind aye, im sure Labour will be out come next elections and Conservatives will be in. I think most people will vote Conservative just to shift Labour, even if they disagree with thier views.

Of course you could all take your chances and vote common sense,

Well these storys we dont exploit
One could be forgiven for thinking that this was true....of course the BNP don't lie to us or exploit stories to use for their own purpose.
But then again Nick Griffin isn't a dictator within the BNP and everything is democratic...

Well then lets have a little look at the case studies that Herr Nick wanted us to despair at.

Actually instead of quoting from the BNP website lets look at the truth:

Racism cuts both ways - tragic murders the BNP is trying to exploit

Now this paints a very different picture on things....and how the BNP will distort the truth to suit their own ends, but then again we already knew that didn't we?

What i find really laughable is the fact that the BNP seemed so desperate to spread their vile idea's that the bought a truck and called it "the truth Truck"

Seems ironic that one would visit the truth truck just to listen to a bunch of racist lies.....damn even hitler would be proud of Griffin's propeganda machine.

I'm sure anyone who has spent time in the company of asians will know what a charwarlier is, or for that matter a Honkey. I, myself was subject to these names until i learned to speak their language and gained their respect.

Racism does cut both ways, the irony of Griffins campaign is, through all the lie's, the title is the only thing that he has managed to tell the truth on.

While i despise the garbage that Nick Griffin is peddling, i have equally as much contempt for those who would use racism for their own minority, the black police officers association springs readily to mind.

But then again this is the BNP thread...imagine what i would write if this was the black police officers union thread....
