| Black workers call for annual slavery day The Government is being urged to introduce an annual day to remember the victims of Britain's slave trade, as the TUC Black Workers Conference opens in Bristol today.And veteran civil rights campaigner Paul Stephenson will speak at the conference tomorrow calling for Bristol to end what he sees as 200-year denial of the city's role in the trade. The TUC has made the suggestion of the annual day so that people could attend an event every year for "remembrance, reflection and education".
