| Preferential treatment of minority groups in housing. Why does this occur? More importantly why do we ALLOW it to occur? The answer is simple, we have let such things become the accepted norm. We no longer stand up for what is right in this country, for fear of being labelled 'racist' if we do.
The housing situation here is appalling. People who's families have lived here all their lives, many of who's ancestors have actually fought and died to maintain our culture, are being pushed to the back of the housing queue, in favour of those from ethnic minorities, and this occurs because if such people are not housed immediately, they simply 'play the 'racist' card', which they know trumps everything.
To give another example, I have just heard the story of an elderly woman who was accused of 'racist harrassment' because she was making frequent complaints to her neighbours, due to the INTOLERABLE noise being made by their frequent social gatherings, where they would have all their doors and windows open, with visitors spilling onto the street. Her neighbours response was ''it is part of our culture', and the matter was dismissed by the authority in question. The expression of culture is all well and good, as long as it does not disturb the status quo of the culture one actually LIVES in, and the excuse given in this specific situation is ludicrous to say the least. What is next? 'it's part of our culture to run around the garden at 2AM banging pots and pans together'?
When this woman persisted with her complaints, she was accused of being 'racist', and could now face eviction. She is 72 years old.
How much more of this are the people of this country going to put up with? How much longer are we going to bite our lip and allow situations like this to occur?
Something needs to be done, and done soon. I honestly fear what will happen if it is not. |
