Claire, it's fair game. Obama could stoop to their level with black racism. He doesn't because if he does he leaves the White House for certain.

Opposition parties do their best to smear each other. Even the late Teddy Kennedy smeared Obama (by accident, mind) in the Primaries.

The Tea Party movement is a pretty rational movement, but they want near-anarchy and a strong state military. Unless a night-watchmen state was created tax money for roads, military and police (which is becoming more like the Sheriff and Deputy in the wild west town, am I right Tantal?) would still require everyone to pay taxes.

Why is it that the left can't (don't WANT to) get past the issue of race? Their typical argument is as follows:
1. Tea Party disapproves of Obama's policies.
2. Obama is black.
3. Tea Partiers must not like blacks.
4. Tea Party is a racist movement.
I would point out that this argument is intellectually dishonest; however, I believe that it is intentionally so. Rather than defend bad policies, it's just easier for leftists to shout "racist" then walk away. Keeps them from looking like idiots when they have to defend themselves against someone with knowledge of economics and history.

It still is. Every one of Obama's policies are going to require a tax increase. By opposing the policies, we are opposing the corresponding tax hikes.

I don't recall any signs regarding his race. Muslim? Not sure about that one either. My take on it is that he is a liberation theologist whose only use for religion is as a tool to further a Marxist agenda.

I think that there are certain Marxists who have determined that they can sell MArxism under the guise of religion. Typically our leftists in the U.S. get themselves all worked up over churches getting involved in political matters and are always clamoring for removal of their tax-exempt status for preaching against such things as abortion. But just last week Nancy Pelosi came out imploring the nation's ministers to preach about immigration, arguing that it was our Christian responsibility to absorb the world's poor and give them a "free" education, health care, food, shelter, etc. They have twisted scripture in such a way as to make people believe that Jesus was a communist......and they'll gladly sell communism under his name if they think it'll help them at the ballot box.
