| Russian Economy and Government I will admit to everyone to read this thread that I am no genius in the economic fields but it is pretty obvious to me that the Russian economy/government is going nowhere. The Russian people are being pushed around by gangs and mafia, and the promises of democracy are seemingly not being fulfilled. People in this world look at democracy because America is a democracy, and they feel if they go democratic that maybe someday their home country may turn out like the fabled America.
In Russia though the people have not seen this miracle occur and are starting to get cautious. Old grandfathers are telling their grandchildren of the old days under Communism. They are telling of the nationalism and pride they felt as they fought under the Communist regime. These children are growing up cautious about democracy, some even longing for the Communists to take power once again.
I believe that something needs to be done about this. Maybe a new revised Communist party may be the exact thing that Russia needs. To date Communism has not been effective, but that can be contributed to greed and closed mindedness. The greed and power hunger that Stalin held in his heart, and the closed mindedness of the American people to anything new or foreign to them. If Russia could redefine communism and perhaps give the Russian people a say in what happens in their government then maybe Russia would come back and become the world superpower it used to be. |
