Labour has siphoned off nearly £1million of taxpayers' money to promote its political interests, the Tories have claimed.

Government grants to a prominent Left-leaning think-tank with close links to Downing Street amounted to a political subsidy, they argued.

The Conservatives released a dossier detailing what they said was systematic 'back-door funding' of Labour ordered by ministers.

They claimed the practice of contractingout policymaking to thinktanks amounted to an inappropriate use of public funds....

A story like this should highlight the front page of all the daily papers. Yet as Labour has cheapened our democracy and political parties are seen as completely untrustworthy this story will just pass us by.
