    What a waste!

What a waste of an opportunity. The political turmoil we are in doesn’t come along very often and instead of making the most of it, this party has walked away from a real chance to make serious inroads and to make something of itself and has instead imploded and will now fade away till the next Euro Elections.

Does the leadership not understand that the electorate are disillusioned with Labour, untrusting of the Tories and find the Lib Dems only very slightly amusing?

I joined this party because I read the manifesto on domestic policy. Nothing to do with Europe. I was impressed with the stance on law and order, immigration, defence etc. European issues are secondary to me but you lot are obsessed about it. It’s important, granted but it isn’t the prime consideration to the man on the street, so stop harping on about it. We’re not impressed by how many Euro-seats you’ve won, if you tell us on Monday, we’ve forgotten by Tuesday.

Domestic Issues! We want Zero-tolerance Policing, Zero-tolerance to racism, Life to mean life and prison to be unpleasant for the inmates. We want respect for the elderly and war veterans and to be able to walk the streets in safety without the fear of attack by packs of feral kids. Give them youth clubs and positive places to go, investment not cut-backs but show a clear difference in what happens along the two tracks of life if you go the wrong way. We want a decent Health service, discipline back in schools, hope and community factories for the unemployed, run by the unemployed.

Get out of Afghanistan and stop interfering in the life of other countries. If they train terrorists, we bomb them back to the stone age till their populace gets the message but if they want to live peacefully under Shari Law then let them. Use the money we would’ve spent over there supplying our armed forces with the kit they deserve for when it’s really needed. Get out of America’s back pocket and try and stand on our own two feet. Trade with Europe but don’t be swallowed or owned by it and work on closer links with our Commonwealth allies such as Canada and India.

The list goes on but what’s the point? UKIP will continue to spin in it’s own self-congratulatory little Euro-circle and go nowhere. What a waste, what a damn shame.

I hear your fears but I don't think that will ever happen. Sadly, having heard Godfrey Bloom (UKIP Euro MP)on the radio last night, I have withdrawn my support for this party with immediate effect.

    My sides have split.
So unproductive has conservatism been in producing a general conception of how a social order is maintained that its modern votaries, in trying to construct a theoretical foundation, invariably find themselves appealing almost exclusively to authors who regarded themselves as liberal. - F.A. Hayek

I wouldn"t laugh, I"m deadly serious. Almost certainly David Cameron will take power in next years election, and I don"t think for one second him, or his party, are ready to govern. They, like New Labour, and the Lib Dems, have no idea what makes the voting public tick; as you only have to watch "Question Time", or pick up a newspaper, or chat to someone at work know that. New Labour over the last 12 years have created a nightmare for this great nation.

We have billions, if not trillions of pounds of dept, invovled in wars which are nothing to do with us, our law and order policies are a joke, with fearal children allowed to vandalise, rob and even murder with almost no action being taken against them.

And take the EU, 60 billion a year to belong to, and what do we get out of it? Answer, just a chance to be kicked around europe by our long term enimies at every opopotunity.

I could go on in more deatail - but I think the last 12 years tells the story. Most people have the same opnion these days. And the Tories and the Lib Dems can only offer much of the same in reality, and will eventualy collapse.

If UKIP does fade away, there is no way back for Britain except through the hard right parties like the BNP - history tells us that. Also, the BNP, love them, or hate them, actualy bother to find out what people want. They don"t just talk to people with views similar to theirs, like the mainstream parties - that"s why they are out of touch with most people! The BNP know most of the public are worried about immigration, worried about crime - and want something done about it!

Now, if the BNP are elected in the future, our way of life will be affected, but if people become desperate, they will gain power as certain as the sun rises in the morning. The only hope is UKIP; as like the BNP, they bother to find out what people want, and are regonised as a more moderate party, true they have extremists in their ranks, as do most parties. And I will continue to offer my support.

Jaques, you sound very sensible but the party seems to have more fools and bigots than most. Best of luck. BFJ

    Hi,

Indeed you are right but one should not just judge an organisation by its leaders, its staff, its sychophants and the company they keep.

There are some honest members I understand despite the dishonesty of their leadership.

    Regards,
    Greg L-W.
