Tom Wise EUkip MEP until June 2009 - full member of EUkip until March 2009 today changed his pleas to GUILTY in Southwark Crown Court at 10:30hrs today.

This has, after a whole day of nervously pacing up and down and seeking advice on how to handle questions spared Nigel Farage cross examination.

I am very pleased to report that Lindsey Jenkins has had her part in this case, which was clearly stupidity and despite signs to the contrary NOT criminality. Lindsey did not receive any monies to which she was not entitled all be it money stolen by Tom Wise was used by Nigel Farage to pay his debt to Lindsey Jenkins.

PLEASE NOTE your statement is 100% untrue.

At no time was Tom Wise expelled from EUkip he was a member until his membership expired in March 2009, also be advised that David Challis as membership secretary employed by EUkip in their admin HQ wrote to him to remind him to renew his membership. Please be advised that Tom Wise was contacted again in May 2009 by an official of EUkip to renew his membership and consider making a donation to the EU election campaign.

May I suggest that you deal in fact when you publish what would seem to be corrections.

You may find the 1,000s of FACTS presented regarding EUkip which are published on my blog of some help in understanding the truth rather than the spin and lies of Nigel Farage who has consistently lied about this issue for, one must assume, his personal gain.

Furthermore Nigel Farage DID NOT withdraw the EUkip whip in the EU Parliament as EUkip do not sit in their own name and you are clearly unaware of the procedures of The EU.

May I Quote the words of a member of Tom Wise's staff:

You are not at all mistaken. I remember Tom and I discussing membership renewals - mine lapsed some time ago, and I let it go without saying anything to anybody. A little while later Tom told me that he was not going to renew his membership, which was when I first told him that I had declined to renew.

Regarding the whip - actually article 2 (I think it is) of the member's statute states that no member is beholden to any party or national grouping, and therefore there is no "whip" as such in the EP. Obedience is voluntary.

One thing worth mentioning, is the fact that when a meeting was held to discuss suspending Tom from the UKIP delegation (they did not have the authority to remove him from the Ind Dem group), we knew it would be a difficult morning. One man - who the staff always referred to as Macavity, because he was always absent whenever there were tough decisions to make - simply failed to show up. You can guess who that was

He simply didn't have the guts.

No doubt you will have guessed that Macavity is Nigel Farage.

It is clear neither of them know much about EUkip - perhaps before they query facts they might like to provide evidence to back their claims, other than quoting the lies of Farage or his lakeys.

For the record Nigel Farage did NOT give evidence against Tom Wise in Court - he did spend much of the day panicing at the likelihood of having to answer questions under oath and trying to find out if he could avoid answering regarding OLAF I understand.

That Nigel Farage or any other member of EUkip took any meaningful action against Tom Wise is an outright lie by those who claim to have done so.

Further as is a matter of public record EUkip took no action other than orchestrate a series of attempts to cover-up for Tom Wise's criminality.

May I suggest you find out FACTS before proffering credits and seeking to question others FIRST.

I am still puzzled at the missing posting but presume it has something to do with me being inept in computer terms.

I do hope this clarifies the facts but do ASK rather than demand and I will try to give you the facts on matters.

Official Statement fom N Farrage 11th May 2008

In March 2007 UKIP MEP's voted to withdraw the whip from Tom Wise following allegations he had been missusing parlimentary allowances.Since that time he has NOT been a UKIP MEP despite claims to the contary.
Under the rules of the party he was banned from holding office or seeking candidature.He is sitting as an independant MEP.



The letter you have on your blog as you well know is one that was sent to all members and former members,you probably had one yourself.I have no problem with anyone digging out the corrupt polititions in our midst but the Tom Wise affair was it seems dealt with and put to bed in March 2007.
I would rather get my facts from official sourses thanks all the same

Streetwalker - I suggest you do some homework. EUkip holds no whip.

It is against EU Parliamentary rules to have a whip, as I have already shown.

Nigel Farage is failing to tell the truth - a lie of omission, since he omits to tell you Tom Wise continued to sit as a member of the IndDemGroup with EUkip in the EP. Further Tom Wise signed various documents.

EUkip took absolutely no meaningful action against Tom Wise.

In May 2008 Tom Wise personally resigned from the IndDemGroup on the eve of the article in The News of The World.

Tom Wise remained a member of EUkip until he took the deliberate action of letting his membership lapse in March 2009 - he continued as an MEP until his term ran out.

Would you like any further facts or will you now revert to dishonest spin from EUkip as your 'Official' source.

Please feel free to contact Garry Cartwright who was on Tom Wise's staff and I have already quoted. Petrina Holdsworth Chairman at the time who quit on the eve of conference because EUkip refused to do anything about the fraud which has led to such subsequent damage.

You may also care to contact Daniel Foggo who broke this story in The Sunday Telegraph. Perhaps the summary in The Sunday Times tomorrow may help your understanding of the facts.

Perhaps a conversation with PC Ian Williams of Bedfordahire Constabulary might assist you in an understanding of the facts and the realisation that spin from EUkip and lies from Farage may well be just that!

Clearly the so called official line is false and no more than designed as fodder for the ill informed, the gullible and the naiive.

You may find a conversation with Dr. David Abbott who was on the NEC or Niall Warry who was Office Manager who both called for a disciplinary hearing but were blocked to assist in EUkip's cover up of involvement in criminality.

May I suggest you rely on facts rather than after the event dishonest spin put out from EUkip.

Tom Wise is in Court later today (Wednesday) for sentencing.

This is the first time a mainstream politician has been in Court for fraud and theft in abuse of his duty of trust for many years. For the damage done to EUkip and their collusion trying to cover-up his crimes there are some who wish to see him incarcerated for 2 or more years.

I do not believe such a sentence would serve much purpose and hope that the judge shows 'strong' leniency by all means issue a 2 year sentence but suspend it for five years.

Encaceration could prove very costly to the tax payer and traumatic for an ex Police Officer who graduated to fraud and embezzling as a politician - he may need constant protection.

It may well more readily show 'justice seen to be done' if Wise is fined.

Since his crime was in 2004 and ongoing with the aim of accruing £180,000, as the Court showed, it seems, and subsequent to the commencement of the crime he received many 100s of £1,000s of public money PLUS about £250,000 in pension funding perhaps surrender/forfeit of all monies obtained subsequent to the commencement of his crime might be seen as more apposite a punishment.

Tom Wise was elected to represent Britain in Brussels

A former MEP was sentenced to two years in prison today after fiddling his expenses to channel £39,000 into a secret bank account.

Tom Wise, 61, who was elected for Ukip but lost the party whip when his offences emerged, accumulated the money over 13 months, spending it on a new car and fine wines.

Wise becomes the second of the party’s 12 MEPs elected in 2004 to go to prison. Ashley Mote was jailed for nine months for benefit fraud in 2007.

Wise is thought to be the first British politician to be imprisoned for fiddling parliamentary expenses.

He pretended the £3,000 “secretarial assistance allowance” he received from Brussels every month was for his 62-year-old researcher Lindsay Jenkins, but she was only given a small percentage.

London’s Southwark Crown Court heard he spent most of it on a lavish lifestyle, clearing credit card debts and funding party political activities.

Judge Geoffrey Rivlin QC said his “sleight of hand” amounted to a “prolonged gross breach of trust”.

I have NEVER wittingly or deliberately lied or deliberately misled anyone. On my CaterpillarsAndButterflies blog for instance I have not made a single solitary substantive error - I have made 3 or 4 minor errors which I have corrected immediately I became aware of them - if you EVER notice an error in something I have published ANYWHERE, please let me know and I will immediately correct or clarify it and issue the appropriate apology.
