BNP - Story looking for vox pops

    Hey there,

My name is Steph Cosway and I'm a third year journalism student at Glasgow Caledonian Uni. For a politics assignment I'm writing a feauture on the BNP rule change and whether or not it's an empty change.
Im looking for anyone to give a shot comment on what you think of the rule change and whether you think anyone of an ethnic minority would actually join or if you know anyone who has or would join.
You dont need to be named if you dont want to but could you give me the area of where you live.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think the more minority members they have the better, every black person in the country should join, call for a vote of no confidence in the leadership, democratically call for the dismantling of the BNP constitution and effectively rid us of what remains of formal fascism.

Well it's clearly not a change that they would have made if it wasn't for the EHRC. Some ethnic minorities will join (a lot of sikhs seem keen) because of the perception that the BNP is the only real opposition to Islamic extremism, but I think that the ideological current of the BNMP is still ethnonationalist in character and therefore if they do, they are foolish.

It'll make little to no difference. As JM says, they were forced into this rule change. In effect, its like a parent leading a child by the ear and forcing them to apologise for something.

If they had changed the rules themselves without any outside pressure, then their public perception MAY have changed. As it is I doubt it. I live in Birmingham.

If anything the change in constitution has actually helped the BNP, it increases the perception of the BNP as being victims of the establishment, as well as increasing membership numbers and removing a major criticism of the BNP. Whether the UAF and others want to accpet it, the BNP does not just attract racists, nor only whites, particularly on policies such as stronger immigration, leaving the EU, and armed Neutrality.

    rule change?

I have to say that perhaps I ate a little too much cheese and now live in a nightmare world where 'rules' are created by the BNP?

are we talking about a 'regime'?

I'm going to be incredibly rude here because I am offended by your post.

My Name is Saff Mountford and I am not studying journalism. I don't believe that the BNP represent a rule change and neither do I believe that any party represents a 'rule change' in a democracy.

I am personally offended and slightly disappointed that you view a potential change in your life and the ability to make a change via your vote as something that could affect your grade, and the potential to patronise others. How are you at buggering off?

I'm not too sure why you are so offended by my post.

I never said the BNP represent a rule change. I am referring to the parties rule change regarding who they let into their party as members. I stated no allegiance to any party no did I say any party represents a rule change.

I do not write stories for grades. I write stories to communicate news, however, as I am a student I feel obligated to inform you that my story is not for a paper. Just as I would tell you if I was working for a paper.

Politics is not my area of expertise yet, yes as part of my course, I am writing a story around politics. I posted this to gain a little help from people who know what they are talking about. I'm sorry this offended you but forgive me for seeking a little help. It seems it is you who is the patronising one.
