Vote for whatever party you would give your vote to in the 2010 General Election. Don't worry whether someone is standing or if you are tactical voting. if you would vote LPUK but there is no candidate standing in your constituency select them anyway.

Jesus said in John 3:17, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

I'd have thought this lot were more Wolfie's style myself though (the social scene is more lively) Socialist Workers Party (Britain)
or Socialist Party or The Socialist Party of Great Britain homepage index .
Not so very very long ago when I lived in Brighton I used to amuse myself by going down the front at conference time and chatting to the Trots outside the hall, every single one of whom were men of over sixtyfive, so lets not patronise CS there's nothing wrong with a touch of idealism.
Trying to get us back on topic this is why we need a system of proportional representation, because if there is enough support for one of these little parties then they should have a voice in parliament. Once apon a time of course they had a voice in the Labour Party and that is who I would dearly wish to vote for. Sadly, they no longer exist.

Morning Star? Isn't Morning Star racing at Kempton this afternoon? A rank outsider at 100 to 1!http://www.politic.co.uk/images/icons/icon12.gif
I do agree, and as a Tory voter I do regret that this is not part of their policy. I struggle to accept that our parliamentary system can even be described as a democracy. How can it be when in the last general election Labour received under 35% of the votes cast and yet have over 60% of the MPs.Trying to get us back on topic this is why we need a system of proportional representation, because if there is enough support for one of these little parties then they should have a voice in parliament. I also believe that our present system of first past the post has in recent times disenfranchised an unacceptably large percentage of the electorate. It was somehow acceptable when we had Labour on the left, the Conservatives on the right and the Liberals drifting round in the middle. Now however the only party remaining with socialist principles (which enjoys any parliamentary representation either in the UK or the EU) is the Green Party. The BNP have created a following on the far right, whilst UKIP have attempted to fill the void left by the Tories moving toward the centre. However many to the left, ranging from sane and sensible social democrats right through to the more extreme ideologies are effectively disenfranchised following Labour's move to the centre.
Whilst I personally disagree with any pure socialist ideology, I do believe absolutely that in a democracy all political views should be proportionately represented.

I've no idea who to vote for, as I cannot trust any of them, they are all a bunch of #*#*#*#.
A dilemma shared by many of the electorate. If you live in Aylesbury as well as work there, your incumbent MP is David Lidington (Conservative), and with nearly fifty percent of the vote in 2005, under our primitive democratic system, it won't make much difference who you vote for. The LibDems polled around a quarter of the vote and Labour well under a fifth.
He has a good reputation as an active constituency MP, was described by the Guardian who are not renowned for praising Tory MPs, as 'a highly intelligent, civilised and articulate young politician'.
Mind you he has a reputation as Mr Clean, largely because he claimed over £1000 in dry cleaning and laundry bills on his expenses in 2008. Like damn nearly every MP he undoubtedly had his snout in the gravy bowl (£115k expenses in 2008) but many were much worse. He holds a junior shadow position on, I think, foreign affairs. You could do worse!!
The more serious aspect of your dilemma relates to whether you intend voting. To me my vote is not only a cherished right, but a serious social obligation. I consider anyone who fails to vote relinquishes their right to have a political say. If you genuinely feel you can't vote for any candidate at least have the integrity to turn up to vote, and write 'none of the above' on your voting slip. Once again in our primitive democratic system, it will count as a spoiled paper, but at least you will have made the effort and you will know you made a positive decision.

We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender. They will not Force us, they will stop degrading us, they will not control us, we will be victorious
