I suppose only time will tell what this will mean for the lib dems. I voted for them in lieu of any better option and although it wasn't in a seat that made a difference I still feel angry. I was hoping that they'd just leave the tories to try and get on with a minority government 'cause it'd have been fun to see if it crashed then maybe something could have happened to give the socialist's time to regroup and beat them at the next election. Apparently there now setting a fixed term for parliaments starting with this one. That, at least is, something to feel glad about.
With so many liberals, if the reports are right, about to be given ministerial positions I think I can swallow it. It does seem as if the current high command of the tories have compromised more than i'd have thought by quite a long way. So, I feel that could help reign in any of the tories ghastly social policies. Clegg is on the right of the economic spectrum too so that'll help the tories cut government spending a bit.
From a Liberationist p.o.v this kinda measures up to be kinda Libearationsim light. Extremelly light, i should say.
btw. if anyone's going to ask why a rabid opponent of tax and squander wants a socialist party to get back in it's because a-there's no prospect of the Libertarians getting in yet and b-for all their ludicrous tax and squander idealsim the socialist's are nicer people and I don't feel they feel they've got a right to govern in the way most tories do.
