Cameron reneges on abolishing Human Rights Act

I didn't vote Conservative, but I did agree with this in the mainfesto. He pledged to abolish this Act and bring in another that gave more rights to the victims than the perpetrators. So why wouldn't you go ahead with this?

And thank the Lord that Clegg pushed for that to be dropped. According to the Daily Fail Cameron wants to smash Party Right and that's why he was happy to give this up! Tories ditched policies as fast as they listed them: 'Cameron wanted to bury party Right,' say Lib Dems | Mail Online

Re: Cameron reneges on abolishing Human Rights Act

I have to agree with Scoobydoo on this; from what I've seen of it in action the Human Rights Acts seems to give perpetrators and those with the biggest (metaphoric) mouths the greater degree of protection in law rather than victims of crime or the average man in the street.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised 'for the good of its victims' may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us 'for our own good' will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C.S. Lewis

Has David Cameron yet said he won't abolish the Act? If so I have missed it!
