Why do they still parade in Northern Ireland

They know it will cause trouble is that all they wish to do? How childish and pointless, no wonder third world nations are always at war, when the 'educated west' still has bigots like these!

soloman, would you prefer all public gatherings to be banned?
What about freedom of expression and movement, freedom to peacefully march and demonstrate?
It is not the parades that cause trouble, it is the violent elements in society.

Re: Why do they still parade in Northern Ireland

I would argue they're doing so partly to be provocative, but I think the marches are still very important to many Protestants. In any case the recent riots don't seem to be connected to the Troubles. This is not the IRA or others, this is just youths who feel disenfranchised, and so rally around old grievances to cause violence.
