At last an end to 24 hours drinking

It seems a pity if this has to end as I believe there have been some benefits for its introduction; an end to the 10.30 swill for example with customers coming and going at more random hours during the evening.

It happens to have been introduced at a time when teenage drinking was already on the rise, and hence the new relaxation is taking the blame.

The original idea to enable the purchase of a drink with a meal almost all day never really took off; maybe the community or magistrates or councils didn't actually like the idea?

Re: At last an end to 24 hours drinking

The politititions as usual are missing the point regarding our pubs
There has never been a problem with with the traditional pub, locals if you like and the people that visit said establishments. Do the idiots at Westminster think that by stopping me having a pint at 4 in the afternoon down my local will in any way solve the problem of teenage drinking? No of course it wont.
Landlords were the respected pillars of society (you used to be able to get them to counter sign your passport ) it is their demise in city center drinking bars (I wont call them pubs) and the employment of 18 year old bar staff that has led to a "lets get hammered" drinking culture among the young .
