Has the silver-spoon-in-the-mouth person been asleep whilst the credit was crunching and the household bills soaring? Ah, forgive me, I forgot, Harman doesn’t count those likely to be hardest hit by such trivia.
Speaking of equality, I wonder if Harman has ever thought that the state of marriage, and the stable upbringing for the nation's children that once accrued from it, should be treated equally with absent dads and single mothers.
As long ago as 1990, our Equalities Minister co-authored a report entitled,
The Family Way, which criticised the family unit and mothers who stay at home. In fact the booklet went so far as to wonder whether:
