Now there are a lot of articles in our press where falling UK GDP and slowing down of our economy is concerned only with rather unthinking Brown’s policy in financial sphere, which is greatly oriented to US financial needs. But it is not quite true to fact. Certainly our orientation to US policy should not be so unreserved. And our economic difficulties are really connected to untalented ruling of Brown’s Cabinet, but not only in financial sphere. It is also related with sharp decline in investments for construction and industrial sector of our economy now.
Well, there is no secret that at this moment lion’s share of long-term investments falls at those oil-and-gas producing companies that are working first of all at the territories of third countries, including Russia. And in this context all problems, resulted, for instance, during BP activities in Russia are directly related with current distortions of Brown’s policy in the direction of our plenary support of US spread in the world. But it brings the question: is it really fruitful for London always to support our overseas allies? Maybe, it is time for our authorities to grow away from our traditionally pragmatic policy… |
