| United Kingdom Politics Having secured a third term, we will fulfil our promise to renew our country and take Britain forward to a better future not back to a failed Tory past. Our continuing success depends on our continuing to pursue a new Labour agenda as a modern progressive party. We will focus on three crucial areas: the economy, modernising public services, tackling crime and asylum; building on what we have achieved to make Britain better since coming to office in 1997 |

| Punch up in the house of Lords!!!!! A former head of the Armed Forces struck a Labour Party peer during a furious row over the Lebanon conflict. Lord Bramall, 82, hit Lord Janner, a senior member of Britain's Jewish community, after making what witnesses claim were a series of 'anti-Israel' comments. Peers watched in astonishment as their argument over the Middle East escalated. Lord Janner, 78, a veteran campaigner for Holocaust victims, was said to feel 'wronged and seriously offended' after the attack at the House of Lords. He immediately sought the advice of fellow peers about how and whether to make a formal complaint against Lord Bramall, who was Chief of the Defence Staff during the 1982 Falklands War and sits as a cross-bencher........ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...0&in_a_source= |
