| A MAN collecting signatures backing Jack Straw's criticism of Muslim veils was arrested - because he was wearing a balaclava. James Scott, 40, wore the black headpiece to demonstrate veils were a barrier to communication. But he refused to remove it when asked by two women police officers. The landscape gardener claimed he had 200 signatures backing the ex-Foreign Secretary's request for Muslims to remove veils when talking to him. Mr Scott said: "I was angry at people criticising Jack Straw. I think he's right. It is nothing to do with race or religion." The dad-of-one started his protest in an Ipswich shopping centre and continued on the street after being asked to leave.
