| President of Staffordshire Uni’s Students’ Union placed on sex offenders’ register THE PRESIDENT of Staffordshire University’s Students’ Union has resigned after being found guilty of indecent assault. Muhammed Nasim, 23, was given a two-year community order under supervision at a Stoke Magistrates’ Court hearing on Friday. He was also ordered to pay £150 court costs and will be placed on the sex offenders’ register for the next five years. He had previously denied indecent assault, but was found guilty after a trial. As part of his community order, he was ordered to take part in a work programme for sex offenders. Nasim was elected to represent students at the university’s Stafford and Stoke campuses in March, less than a month before the assault took place on April 25.
