I'm not a whinging whining Leftie, nor am I a Right Winger Grumpy Old Geezer, just a teensy cynical at times. I like talking to Socialists and those of the Left, but I do find their attitudes often a bit puzzling. Some years ago whilst studying Politics and Sociology for my OU Degree, one student was most definately of the Left persuason. When the topic of certain politcal commentators came up, such as Roger Scruton [who is right wing], this fellow student went off on quite a tirade about 'Fascists, Heretics, Nazis' and so forth. When Mrs Thatcher's name was also mentioned,this Geezer became appoplectic with rage. Yes it was genuine hatred of all Mrs Thatcher stood for, and blind rage against the Tory Party. "ROGER SCROTUM!" this bloke yelled at all the other students..."Is a Fascist!" or words to that effect.

Now this Geezer had what I would call a 'healthy politcal outlook'. He nearly blew a fuse during the tutorial we were having. I was going to reply in kind and call him a 'Stalinist Control Freak', but I did not want to...'Upset this poor Geezer', after all, the poor dear was already upset at the name of Roger Scruton. I think he wanted to burn him as a witch if he could!

It was quite an interesting mornings tutorial, but I know this Geezer was not representative of those who espouse the Left of Politics.... But, they do seem to like shouting down those who do not hold similar views as themselves..... Poor, Poor Dears! It must be hard work being a Leftie at times. All those 'Bad People' who do NOT agree with you!!
