I know this has been discussed over many topics but now the day has finally arrived time to predict the outcome , who would you vote for ? ... and who do you think will win ?
I would vote Obama and expect him to win by a big margin .

It is now in the hands of US elites, as in all polygarchies, we'll just have to wait and see..Friends on the left....
Of course if Obama does win he's bound to be shot - that's democracy folks. I mean come on it wasn't that long ago Americans used to set the dogs on black voters (Land of the free - my ass)- A black president will be seen as a threat to national security.
Isn't the American 'left' to be found slap back in the centre ground probably a little to the right if viewed from a European perspective ? That is one of the reasons i would happily vote Obama , he is centre right imo , which should be a big improvement on what has gone before . Hope the Republicans learn from what is about to happen (tempting fate !) sort themselves out and regain control of their party from those religious nutballs and the Neo Cons.
And fingers crossed Obama doesn't turn out like Blair , substituting presentation and rhetoric for substance and vision .
Indeed Albion (also Tantal may find this interesting) some on the far left actually prefer McCain!!!
This is becoz if capitalism is going to fail it will be a quicker and more dramatic failure under McCain (or worse Palin as McCain does not look like he has 5 yrs left in him!). Obama however may just have what it takes to sustain capitalism. - It is an interesting argument
I however still prefer Obama.
Just as I suspected. The left WANTS capitalism to fail so that their new communist overlords will be viewed as saviors. Fortunately, the largest gun show in the free world is this weekend. I've saved all year so that I can stock-up on any last-minute necessities. I haven't even left yet and I've already scored a good deal. $300 cash for a now-banned-from-importation Chinese MAK90 AK-47, which will bring my Kalashnikov collection to 11. Problem is, I've only got about 6,000 rounds of ammo in that caliber.

Very interesting , i can understand why the far left would favour a McCain/Palin win (very cruel) ... the same reason the Tories cheered when Foot beat Healey and Labour cheered when the Conservatives chose Duncan-Smith ... isn't politics fun !
So far a landslide for Obama , he should run for office in Europe![]()
Obama isn't going to "rescue" capitalism. He hates capitalism. Further, the economy doesn't need to be "run" by the government. The government needs to implement minimum regulations to prevent fraud and guarantee a level playing field in business matters. Other than that, it needs to leave the economy the hell alone.

In most opinion polls in Europe, Obama has gained 80-85% (today's Times).
It's getting good now, everything warming up. If I wasn't ill I'd stay up until 3A.M. to be sure of the result...
That's what Bush said. When will the right learn that complete deregulation and tax breaks do not help the economy in the long run? Bush's policy of tax cuts for the rich and economy deregulation landed us in this mess in the first place, and McCain still carries the same old proven-to-be-wrong idiot rhetoric...
Very 'old school thinking' Tantal. But what you have described has failed. Almost every senior economist in the world (the really anti government ones) are now calling for increased regulation as the ONLY way to save the economy. Why do you continue to cling to this small government discourse???
You find this interesting - written by a guy from very much your way of economic thinking
FT.com / Columnists / Martin Wolf - Why financial regulation is both difficult and essential
[Note: as u always ignore lefty academic sources I post so i went out of my way to find someone who I almost always disagree with to quote against you here. This guy is a very well respected journalist/ academic who, as I say, I normally disagree with, thus you should find it an acceptable source]
Is not pro regulation at all, but just shows why NO regulation cannot work
If I could vote, I'd vote for Obama. From what I have seen of the election so far, Obama may have this one in the bag.
In the dark
Captured in his frozen heart
Colours fade into grey
She tried so hard
Every word was torn apart
Shot her down with poisoned darts
Her tears made her swim beneath the sea.
She's free.
As it turned out, he most certainly did.
I was very impressed with McCains concession speech - it was very dignified.
