What was it I saw there behind President Obama at his Address?

No not Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, behind them one to the left and one to the right, In Gold on the walls.

Why are they there? Two Identical symbols one to the left and one to the right, both are symbolic of socialist ideas, have they always been there?
Any expert info would be appreciated.

I can't for the life of me despite squinting and standing on my head etc., make out the one on the right, it seems to be some sort of cat tapestry.

Exactly! In fact if you follow your link and scroll down the page you will find a picture (2nd pic, 1st row), click on it, and you will see that there is one on each side of the American Flag which is behind the Speaker's rostrum in the US House of Representatives. Nothing sinister at all, even if one is paranoid enough to think so.
