Judicial Justice?

OK lets look at Fact's first... an estimated 1 out of every 20 persons (5.1%) will serve time in a prison during their lifetime. America incarcerates five times as many people per capita as Canada and 7 times as many as most European democracies. America spends approximately 100 billion dollars a year on the criminal justice system, up from 12 billion in 1972. In the early 70s, there were about 200,000 people locked up in the U.S. Today’s prison population of 1.8 million represents a growth of over 800% in the past 30 years.

With All of that said, Do you not think something is wrong here, given these substantial numbers? Especially when more than 60% of these people are Blacks who live in our cities "ghetto's" with no government support or any support from the upper class citizens. They are not offered the supposed 120,000 jobs created recently from the government and trying to feed a family on minimum wage is impossible (regardless that it was just raised), so when they are basically forced to sell drugs, to keep food and clothes abundant for their families, they are thrown in prison and viewed as criminals. Is this not a form of indigenous slavery? and Why can we not fix this problem before invading other countries?

Does anybody have any opinions or anything to add?
