Flag burning isn’t confined to the Islamic world but the setting alight of flags of western countries is certainly a common sight at the almost daily protests taking place somewhere in the Middle East, Pakistan or North Africa. Only last week violent protests were seen in cities across Pakistan after Salman Rushdie was awarded a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday honours list. Effigies of the Queen and union flags were set ablaze in the streets in traditional Islamic style.
Over on YouTube is a chilling home made video clip of a group of Muslim radicals living in Britain who start with a recital from the Koran and then go on to issue blood curdling threats to non-believers before setting alight a St. George’s Cross which has been desecrated with Islamic graffiti.
The practitioners of what we are regularly told is the “religion of peace” end with a startling reminder of how radical Muslims will deal with non-believers:

“We begin with your flag and we end with your blood.”
