In my local electronics shop, I have seen these really great laser guns a bit like laser tag, which give you an electric shock when you get hit. Couldn't all guns be replaced with something like this.

Also giant online virtual battles, with all sorts of tanks and weapons and strategy simulated could become an international event, and televised. Maybe people would be happy with winning a wargame just as much as winning a real war.
